The New 9-1-1

We've all heard of 911 and know the line is to report emergencies to law enforcement, fire departments, emergency medical services, and beyond. However, 988 is the newest number to program!

As of July 16, 2022, 988 is the line that is staffed 24/7 (like 911) and will serve as the Veterans Crisis Line, Suicide Prevention Line, and line for mental health crises.

Mental health is connected to nature - doctors are even giving "outdoor/nature prescriptions." Waterway Advocates takes mental health very seriously and provides community experiences that are always a safe space for all.
