Miami Decides They Shouldn't Ban Protected Mangroves

Another thing to celebrate in Miami tonight! With the help of several other Biscayne Bay advocates, we were able to safeguard our mangroves.

Earlier today, the Commission tossed the proposed ordinance that would ban the planting of future mangroves within City of Miami parks (all for a good selfie - welcome to Miami!).


Kudos to Commissioner Ken Russell, along with the many City officials, organizations, and community members who came together to make this happen. As we always say: “Our ecosystems shouldn't just be beautiful, they should be thriving.”
